Anxiety Coaching
Anxiety coaching is a shorter form of anxiety treatment that is oriented on specific goals. For example, treatment of recurrent panic attacks, fear of public speaking, cardiophobia, etc. Usually clients require between 6 to 12 anxiety coaching sessions to see major improvements.
Anxiety coaching sessions are highly practical. Clients are encouraged to complete assigned homeworks in between sessions. Anxiety coaching also differentiates itself from traditional forms of psychotherapy. Anxiety coaching is less focused on reviewing your early life experiences, relationships with significant others.
Important attention is paid to your anxiety experience in the present moment. For example, what are your anxiety symptoms, when do you experience them, what might cause them, how do you deal with your anxiety symptoms.
My approach to anxiety coaching is based on Cognitive Behavioral, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy methods.
Anxiety Counseling
Anxiety counseling is a longer form of anxiety treatment that may include several different counseling goals that partly contribute to existing anxiety problems. For example, a person with generalized anxiety might want to resolve difficulties of not being able to say ,,No”, perfectionism, difficulties of expressing anger, etc. Anxiety counseling often takes a time frame in between half to 2 years.
Anxiety counseling is suitable for anxiety problems that require time and are difficult to resolve. Often these problems have deep roots in early childhood and have become part of a person’s identity.
Anxiety counseling also has exploratory quality. Sometimes clients experience anxiety symptoms but they are not quite sure why and where they are coming from. Anxiety counseling helps clients to bring unconscious psychological conflicts to consciousness by establishing deep contact with emotions and personal needs.
My approach to anxiety counseling is based on Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral therapy methods.
Romantic Relationship Anxiety Counseling
Romantic relationship anxiety is common for people with Anxious attachment style. Common signs are strong fear of rejection and abandonment. People’s pleasing behaviour, clinginess, need of reassurance for love, hopelessness, jealousy, difficulty trusting your partner, etc.
Romantic relationship anxiety can make your relationship experience miserable. Often it creates unnecessary distress and makes you do foolish things that self-sabotages long-term relationships.
Romantic relationship anxiety counseling helps clients overcome romantic relationship anxiety and establish healthy boundaries within self, romantic relationships.
